Time Table
Parents should note that members of the domestic
and ground staff assume duties from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. TRY TO
AVOID BRINGING YOUR CHILD/WARD TO SCHOOL BEFORE 7:30 a.m. PUPILS
SHOULD NOT BE WAITING FOR TRANSPORT AFTER 5:30 p.m. The school cannot
accept responsibility for the safety of pupils before or after these
hours.
Students who arrive early or await transportation after school hours
should gather at the front of the school hall.
Fees
The termly Petty Fees of $15.00 should be
paid at the Secretary-Treasurer's Office on the first day of the
term, and NOT LATER THAN WEEK 4. Fees should be paid by 12 noon
each day. To avoid the necessity for constant reminders or sanctions,
parents are encouraged to pay $45.00 for the year at the beginning
of
Term 1 in September.
Petty Fees cover only part of the costs of an individual pupil's
stationery. Your child/ward may therefore be required to pay for
unusually expensive items, e.g. Science Note Books.
Phone Calls
A pay telephone is available near the School
Office. Pupils are NOT permitted to use the office phone. Pupils
are not to leave class to use the phone.
School Badges
The school crest badge is available from
the Secretary-Treasurer's office.
A Queen's College Tie Pin/Lapel Pine is also available from the
office at a cost of $20.00.
Form Captain, Prefect and House Official
badges are to be returned to the Deputy Principal at the end of
the term of office. Pupils who lose school badges are expected to
pay the cost of replacement.
Library
The school library is open daily from 8:30
a.m. - 4:00 p.m. It is stocked with a variety of books and magazines.
Books may be borrowed for a two-week period, overnight or for the
weekend and magazines may only be borrowed overnight. It should
be noted that First Forms may not borrow books until they have had
their Library Orientation Sessions.
Money
Please avoid giving your child/ward large
sums of money to bring to school. If this cannot be avoided, the
money should be deposited in the School Office for sake keeping.
Valuables
The school cannot be responsible for the
safety of items like cameras, expensive fountain pens, watches,
tape recorders, calculators, etc, even when handed in for safekeeping
or as found' property.
If an item is lost the pupil should prepare a notice' to be
read at Assembly and hand it in to the Office.
It is the pupil's responsibility to check
with the Office when items are lost.
Emergencies
In cases of accident or sudden serious illness,
the school will try to contact parents if medical attention seems
desirable. In such cases, we would advise you to be responsible
for taking your child/ward to your family doctor. Should this prove
impossible the school will arrange for your child/ward to be seen
by him or to be taken to another doctor, or to the Queen Elizabeth
Hospital, if necessary.
If your child/war is epileptic, diabetic, asthmatic or is subject
to some illness which should be carefully observed, or needs special
handling, the school should be notified. The school should also
be aware of students with allergies to aspirin preparations.
Medicines
No pupil may bring any medicines to school
for his/her private use without an explanatory letter from the parent/guardian
which must be submitted to the School Office.
Such medicines must be left at the School Office except in specially
allowed circumstances.
Report Cards

1. A report at the end of each term;
2. A record card once each term.

Detentions
Detentions are held on Thursdays from 2:50
p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in a designated classroom.
Detentions given on Thursday MUST be taken the following week. Only
the Principal may excuse pupils from detention.
Illness
If your child/ward is feeling ill in the
morning it would be advisable for him/her to stay at home, rather
than spend the day in the sick room at school. In cases of illness
where she/he is expected to be at home longer than a week, it would
be appreciated if the form teacher was notified as soon as possible.
Guidelines for certain infectious diseases have been received from
the Ministry of Education and are as follows:
ILLNESS EXCLUSION FROM SCHOOL
Measles - 14 days after appearance of rash
German Measles - -7 days after appearance
Chicken Pox - 14 days after appearance
Mumps - 7 days after subsidence of swelling
A medical certificate is expected from a pupil on his/her return
to school if he/she has been suffering from one of the communicable
diseases listed in the 1969 Health Service Act or unless the Education
Act requires it (see below). Included in this list are: Measles,
German Measles, Whooping Cough, Diphtheria, etc. Such cases require
a doctor's certificate before readmission to school.
Please note also that the Education Act requires a medical certificate
to be submitted to the Principal in cases where absences of a week
or more involves illness of any kind.

(QCPTA) was founded over twenty years ago with the following objectives:

at school and in the community;
bring into closer relation the home and school, that parents and
teachers may co-operate in the training of the child;
promote parent education; and
assist in bringing educators and the general public into united

The PTA contributes annually to the school's
Benevolent Fund, donates prizes for academic and sports achievements
and periodically purchases urgently needed equipment and machinery
in support of school activities. Its main source of funds is the
Annual Fair which is held at the end of the Easter Term. This year,
the fair date is March 27.
