Sports
The success of Harrisonian students in academic circles is well known. What is not known so widely are our phenomenal achievements in the sporting arena. Harrison College has seen the likes of now world famous athletes Obadele Thompson and Andrea Blackett starting their athletic careers under the guidance of the school's Physical Education Department. Harrison College has also produced international standard competitors in areas of discipline other than athletics. One fine example is Barbados Government Scholar, Kibibi Moseley. Kibibi has represented Barbados at the International level in table tennis with a great measure of succes as she is now one of the finest table tennis players the Caribbean has ever produced. If you are interested in learning about the fine sportspersons Harrison College has helped to develop, just continue reading or visit the appropiate sport's link which will follow at the bottom of this page. Unfortunately, unless otherwise mentioned, the outcomes of these sports events are all from the 1997-1998 academic year as most of these competitions are presently underway or have not taken place in the 1998-1999 year as of yet.
Basketball
The Junior (Under 16) basketball team was successful in retaining both the League and Knockout titles to become this year's 'Double Crown' Champions. Although a total team effort is attributed to their success, particularly outstanding performances were given by:
ROGER PIGGOTT
ALWIN LOVELLN                    -Chosen for Junior National Trials
CHRISTOPHER BELLE          -Chosen for Junior National Trials
EDSON KAYNARD
COREY ALEYNE
Cricket
The Under 15 team performed creditably in the 1998 C&W B.E.T. competition, finishing fourth in their zone. There were several outstanding performances by team members during the season but to the forefront of these was EMILIKE EDGEHILL who led all batsmen in the competition with 585 runs. Also brilliant with the bat was DAMIEN SEALY who finished third in the competition with 501 runs. Not to be left out was ANDRE EDWARDS who was among the top bowlers in the competition taking 42 wickets. All three of these players are currently at National Trials.
Netball
The Senior girls' netball team reached the quarter final stage of the Schools' League, despite missing their top defender, Dionne Johnson. They won three out of four games in their zone. Now that a new coach Miss Austin has been hired, even more progress is expected to be made. Victoria Appia (Captain) was the team's most outstanding player.
Table Tennis
Harrison College again ended up in the final of the Goddard's Enterprises Knockout competition. Unfortunately however, the team of Damani Gibbs, Trudy Blackman, Corey Grimes, Braden Boyce and Ryan Griffith was defeated by Combermere.
